Not every tattoo responds the same way
Ink colour is the single biggest factor, and it is the reason results vary so much between clinics.
Blues and greens are the hardest colours to clear. We are the only facility in Colorado with a Q-Switched Alexandrite 755nm laser used exclusively for them. It fires at ten pulses per second where most blue and green lasers manage one. In practice that means less time in the treatment room for you, and better clearance on the colours that usually get left behind.
Because we run multiple tattoo removal lasers rather than one, we can match the laser to your ink instead of matching your expectations to a single machine.
How it actually works
The laser energy passes harmlessly through your skin and is absorbed by the ink itself. That energy heats the ink particles and breaks them into fragments small enough for your body to carry away or shed like a splinter.
That is also why removal takes several sessions. Your body does the clearing between visits, and it needs time.
Who performs your treatment
Your consultation and your treatment are carried out by Certified Laser Specialists who train other practitioners in this technique. Between them they have performed thousands of tattoo removal procedures.

How many sessions will it take?
It depends on more variables than most people expect: how old the tattoo is, your skin type, which colours were used, your overall health, where it sits on your body, who applied it, and whether it is original work or a cover-up.
Some old or homemade tattoos clear in just a few treatments. Tribal work, cover-ups and very dark tattoos can take ten or more.
The treatment itself is quick. An average-size tattoo takes somewhere between one and five minutes.
Does it hurt?
Honestly, it can. We would rather tell you that than have you find out in the chair.
Most clients find it tolerable, and our specialists have refined their technique specifically to make it more so. The discomfort also drops away immediately once the treatment stops, rather than lingering.
We also offer nitrous sedation. If anxiety about the pain is what has stopped you booking, this is worth asking about. It takes the edge off considerably, and you can still drive yourself home afterwards.
What healing looks like
Knowing this in advance makes the first session far less alarming.
The treated area whitens immediately. That usually lasts a few minutes.
A superficial heat blister may form. Some people also see bruising or swelling.
Crusting or scabbing appears within 12 to 72 hours and can last a week or two, sometimes longer.
Once the scab separates, the area often looks pink or pale.
Loss of skin pigment in the treated area is common and usually temporary.
Scarring is unlikely, but possible.
Healing is usually complete within four to six weeks.
