Sun Spots and Hyperpigmentation Treatment in Denver
Most people notice it in a photograph before they notice it in the mirror. Spots and uneven tone build up slowly enough that you stop seeing them day to day, then a picture catches the light differently.
The good news is that pigmentation responds well to treatment. The catch is that "pigmentation" covers several different things, and they do not all respond to the same device.
What actually counts as hyperpigmentation
All of these sit under the same umbrella, and we treat them regularly:
Sun spots and age spots
Dark spots and patches
Red spots and patches
Freckles
Discolouration left behind by acne
Rosacea
Melasma
They look similar in the mirror and behave very differently under a laser, which is why the consultation matters more here than in most treatments.
The three tools, and when each one wins
We use IPL, Pico laser and medical-grade VI chemical peels. Which one suits you depends on three things: your skin tone, the type of discolouration, and where on the body it sits.
IPL
Intense pulsed light works well on sun damage and redness, and it covers larger areas efficiently, which makes it a strong choice for chest and shoulders.
It is best suited to lighter skin tones. IPL targets pigment but cannot reliably distinguish pigment in a spot from pigment in the surrounding skin, so on deeper tones the risk of an uneven result rises.
Pico laser
Pico delivers extremely short pulses that shatter pigment into particles fine enough for your body to clear on its own.
Safe on all skin tones
Reaches deeper than IPL
No downtime
Also stimulates collagen, so texture improves alongside tone
VI chemical peel
A medical-grade peel lifts away damaged surface layers and accelerates cell turnover. It is particularly useful for discolouration left behind by acne, and it pairs well with Pico rather than competing with it.
Expect several days of visible peeling. That downtime is the trade-off for how much it shifts in a single treatment.
Why the choice matters more on deeper skin tones
Treating pigmentation on darker skin with the wrong device or the wrong settings can leave you with more discolouration than you started with, not less.
This is where having several devices genuinely changes the outcome. A clinic with one machine has to treat every skin tone and every type of spot with it. We choose the tool to fit your skin rather than the other way round.
Who performs your treatment
Your treatment is carried out by our instructors, the people who train other clinics' staff in these exact techniques. Students do not perform treatments in our clinic and do not observe them.
What it costs
Pigmentation treatment pricing starts at $100 per session, and your consultation is free. Because a plan often combines devices across a few sessions, we quote the whole course rather than a single visit.

Bring your history. If you have had IPL or peels elsewhere and the spots returned, that tells us something useful about which route to take this time.
